非常にめずらしい英国出版のウェブスター辞書である。原本に多種多様な付録をつけた。

・構成第Ｉ巻は本文(A-L)が613頁までで、その後に The Origin and Progress of the Art of Writing. By Henry Noel Humphreys.(pp. 1-111) が続く。第II巻では本文(M-Z)は540頁までで、その後に各種の附録が続く。A Key to the Pronunciation of Greek, Latin, & Scripture Proper Names. (p. 541-586) Terminational Vocabulary of Greek and Latin Proper Names. (pp. 587-620) A Vocabulary, Giving the Pronunciation of Modern Geographical Names. (pp. 621-648) The Philosophy of Language; Comprehending Universal Grammar. By Sir John Stoddart, Knt., LL. D. Revised by the author, and Edited by William Hazlitt, Esq., Barbister-at-Law. (pp. 1-166) ウェブスター系辞書にはない独自の附録も加えた。

・解説本書も上と同じように An American Dictionary of the English Language の1847年版簡約辞書をイギリスにおいて翻刻出版したものである。しかし、本書はそれを２巻に分けている。本文は第２巻の540頁までで、その巻末に独自のエッセーが挿入された。その編集を担当したのが T. H. Orr である。

・両巻とも、背革にスレがあり、本体とのつながりが多少ゆるくなっています。写真をご覧ください。

・経年の割には、中はとてもよい状態で、書き込みなどはみつかりませんでした。
